Mark Swartz is a Senior Planner with over 20 years of experience as a Planner. Mark has proven to be very capable in his abilities as a town planner across
the private and public sector. He quickly moved through the ranks of intermediate to senior planner in the first five years of his career, and then
moved into team management roles. Mark has more than 12 years of experience as a planner in Auckland and understand the Auckland Unitary Plan very
well, as he managed a range of teams throughout his time in the public sector.
Mark’s skills in negotiations and pragmatism make sure that applications are well prepared to suit the needs of Auckland Council, and that his applications are well-argued so that they progress well through processing. Mark’s collaborative approach works well to coordinate teams of specialists that contribute to a consent application including regular communication with architects and clients to ensure the smooth design of a concept plan. Mark has a keen eye for detail and can explain a complex solution clearly to a client in a way that they can understand and be able to make good decisions.
Mark holds a Masters of Town Planning and is an associate member of the New Zealand Planning Institute.
